Alfa Participates in Cephas Williams’ Portrait of Black Britain

  • Created on 16 Nov 2021

Earlier in 2021, alongside O2, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and EY among many others, Alfa joined the Black British Network, founded by Cephas Williams. By joining, Alfa became a part of a vocal collective of changemakers, aiming to make racial equity a reality.

One of the major projects on which Cephas has been working this year is the Portrait of Black Britain. His mission for this portrait series was to create 1,000 portraits, making Black people and their contribution to society visible in a way that is centralised and speaks to legacy.

The exhibition ran between 1st and 14th November at Bluewater Shopping Centre, and Alfa’s own Tobi Strillozzi and Doyinsola Ishola had their portraits featured. Set up in 2020, the Black British Network is an alliance made up of business leaders, leading organisations within the UK and the Black community. The focus of the network is to work together to dismantle systemic racism and improve the economic prospects of Black people living in the UK. As a founding member, we’re delighted that our colleagues could be featured in this important and timely exhibition.
