Graduate Programme

Careers Grad Programme 1

We look for people with outstanding talent and achievement, including an excellent academic record. If you can demonstrate this, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Every aspect of an Alfa Systems implementation is carried out together with the client, so you’ll be willing to work in different locations around the world.

You don’t require a technical background to excel in this role. Of course, if you’ve been involved in IT or software development, you may find it easier in the early days. The main prerequisite is a desire to learn about technology and finance.

We have a number of intakes in a year. If you’re intending a break after graduating, but would like to interview now for a place in a future intake, we’re happy to accommodate this.

Applications for the 2020 graduate programme are now open.

Graduates FAQ

Asked most frequently by grad applicants

  • 1

How long is the recruitment process?

Once we have received your application, we aim to get back to you within a week. If we invite you for an interview, this will happen quickly - probably around a week after contact. The second interview is carried out in a similar period of time and an offer can be made within a month of initial contact.

  • 2

How can I prepare for the interview process?

We want to get the best out of you in your interview. You know what qualities and skills you bring to us, so make sure you tell us. We need to be sure you are actually interested in the different facets of the role so researching and showing an enthusiasm for the industry and our projects is a must. Showing how you stand out from the crowd can be tough, so have a think before the interview about achievements and experiences that make you the best person for the job.

  • 3

What is the split between technical and functional/business work?

Every consultant at Alfa starts off by learning our product from the inside out. That means software development and the early years as a consultant with Alfa will have a heavy technical bias. At the same time, you will learn about the asset finance industry as you change and add new bits of functionality to the product, spend time with our clients and attend the plethora of training we have set out for you.

  • 4

Will I get the chance to work overseas?

Your initial training will be based in London and we have projects in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Europe. If you are happy to work overseas there is a good chance you will be given that opportunity once you have gained sufficient experience, depending on project needs.

  • 5

How will I get to know my colleagues?

We have company meetings every quarter and staff events such as the annual conference. We also have informal groups from surfers to photographers, as well as regular team social events.

  • 6

    Where is your office based?

Alfa has offices all over Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States. In London, Alfa is based in the heart of the City, while in the US we are based in Michigan. We have projects all over the globe.
